Large, weathered marine snail shell, likely a fossilized or subfossil specimen belonging to the moon snail family (Naticidae). It features a rounded, tightly coiled spiral structure with a prominent central spire. It displays a chalky, grey exterior with a rough surface that shows tiny natural pits or wear marks. It is in great condition.
This appears to be an older subfossil or stone-replaced shell rather than a fresh beach find. This looks great displayed on a library shelf or even used as a doorstop.
Measures approximately 10-1/2" long x 5-1/2" high and is a heavy weight.
