I'm looking to put together an acoustic group. I play guitar (20 years) and mandolin (2 years) and have recorded and written quite a bit, performed intermittently. First and foremost I'm a songwriter, and really want to collaborate.
Hearing the Punch Brothers and seeing Hadestown changed my life. Now I'm obsessed with being in a group that can just pick up their instruments and cast a spell.
I'm less worried about fitting into a genre, more just sounding good and feeling good. Having said that, I do listen to a bit of everything, but gravitate towards alternative rock or more complicated arty rock.
While singing is something I love and would love for everyone else to do as well, I think being able to play instrumentals every now and then would be ideal as well, be it Irish reels or excerpts of string quartet or whatever we can pull off.
Please be near the Wayne area!
