Well maintained Specialized Rockhopper. 2005-2006 model. 8-speed Deore rear derailleur. Upgraded with Wolf Tooth derailleur extension to fit 40-tooth cog on cassette--excellent for climbing.
Could use a minor adjustment to the rear derailleur (when I did my usual chain cleaning, lubing, and test ride the other day I noticed some rattling, but the bike still rides fine)
This bike has been great for 5'10" and 5'11" riders.
PHOTO AND COMPONENT NOTES
The photo shows something different, but the actual pedals currently on the bike (and included in sale) are Forte dual-sided aluminum pedals. One side is flat with ridges for grip, and the other side features the Shimano clipless attachment system
Pannier rack shown in photo is included at no extra cost. If you don’t want the rack, though, please let me know before meetup
TEST RIDES
All buyers are welcome to sit on the bike to see if it fits. Test ride option 1: a small-area test ride (pedaling up and down a short dead-end street located .6 miles from Tenleytown—and we could set that location as our initial meetup spot if you’d like). Test ride option 2: a larger area test ride (available only select weekdays around 4 p.m., possibly earlier in the summer). If you want a test ride, mention it in your first email, confirm you will bring and wear a helmet, and say something to indicate you are a serious buyer
SALE NOTES
Cash only. Near Tenleytown metro (red line). I will check watermarks on all large bills. Please do not take this personally.
For $80 more, I will list as local pickup on eBay with “accept offers” enabled. That would give you eBay buyer protection and, I believe, would let you pay with credit card, too.
If you email to ask if I will accept a lower price, I will respond with the following: "For this sale, I will only consider lower offers once you have shown up with cash in hand and have inspected the bike to confirm everything is to your liking. If you are not willing to begin in-person bargaining at the listed price, please consider buying a different bike." I do not guarantee that I will accept a lower price, but I am sharing this because I want to give you a fair heads-up about how I will respond to email inquiries about price changes.
If you are on a tight schedule, feel free to mention in your initial message some times when you could meet up. I cannot make any promises, but I will certainly see what I can do. Otherwise, I would be happy to offer possible meet-up times when I respond.
Thanks for looking at this listing. Please let me know if you have any questions.
