I'm one of 6 roommates - we're hoping to replace one who is moving out.
We’re looking for a friendly, considerate roommate to join our laid-back, diverse, LGBTQIA-friendly 6-bedroom group house.
The room: Our smallest and most affordable room is ~150 sq. ft. and rents for $821/month, plus approximately $80–$120/month for utilities.
The room available appears here as the "green" room (but it's been repainted I think white?)
It’s on the second floor, unfurnished, with a small closet, hanging rod/shelf, and shared balcony access. You’ll share the second floor bathroom w/ four others - 2 women, 1 guy (but the house has several bathrooms total).
The house: Four bathrooms, three refrigerators, spacious living and dining rooms, porches, a rear patio, and plenty of storage. Free basement laundry, indoor bike storage, central A/C, radiator heat, reliable hot water, and responsive maintenance. Utilities are six ways; street parking requires no permit.
The neighborhood: Mount Pleasant - Walk to the Zoo, Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights/Green Line, and two Red Line stations, with buses, groceries, restaurants, and bars nearby.
The household: Easygoing roomies (3 male 2 female plus you) who value a friendly atmosphere and clean shared spaces. We also have four very sweet cats (3 big ones 1 little one)! Three roam the house, while the kitten stays in the big master bedroom until he grows.
Move-in: By November 9, potentially earlier, with prorated rent available if needed. Longer-term stays preferred, with flexibility if plans change.
Facts about our property manager that we all rent through (they handle the applications, not us).
Application requirements (sorry, we occasionally struggle to get folks qualified so we've asked for their requirements so we can list them here): Fred A. Smith Company requires an application, a one-time fee, and Credit score of 650+; At least six months of steady income; gross monthly income of at least twice your rent; Employment references, plus landlord references if applicable; Satisfactory landlord/tenant court-record screening, if applicable
A qualified co-signer is an option if you don’t meet the income requirement, but cannot offset negative credit marks or poor rental history.
Again, we the tenants (roommates) no control over the way the Property Managers vet the potential tenants but WE choose who we want to live with then you apply and deal with F.A.S. to get through their hoops.
Interested? Send us a message and tell us a little about yourself!
