The Shift Supervisor for Program Assistants is responsible for overseeing daily shelter operations during assigned shifts and providing direct supervision, guidance, and support to Program Assistants and Support Staff. The position ensures appropriate staffing coverage, maintains a safe and supportive environment, and responds to client concerns, conflicts, and emergencies using appropriate de-escalation and conflict-resolution strategies. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining accurate shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation; monitoring facility conditions and supplies; and ensuring compliance with agency policies, program procedures, contractual requirements, and District regulations. The position serves as an important link between frontline staff, the Program Manager, agency leadership, participants, and external partners to promote continuity of services and effective shelter operations.
Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in direct services, case management, shelter operations, crisis intervention, supportive services, or a related field. Prior supervisory experience is required. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations is strongly preferred.
