GRE Instructor / Tutor (Remote)

The Role

• Remote one-on-one GRE tutoring
• Significant initial training, limited ongoing training, and special projects related to instruction and materials
• Potential (but not required) in-person tutoring

While the initial workload may be lighter, our ideal candidate would build up to 4–10 teaching/tutoring hours per week, primarily on weeknights and weekends. Some instructors who wanted more work have taught 20+ hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• GRE scores: 165+ Quant AND 165+ Verbal on an actual GRE
• Please note: We are not hiring quant-only specialists at this time.
• Ability and willingness to teach all GRE topics
• At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience; more preferred
• Understanding of and commitment to the Socratic method
• Empathy, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds
• Availability for 2-hour blocks on multiple weeknights between 5 and 10 p.m. Eastern, and/or on weekends

Compensation

• Teaching and tutoring: $100–$120/hour, based on experience
• Preparation and training: $30/hour
• Special projects: $50/hour
