Cargo Van Driver - Scheduled AM Routes - $120-$160/Route - 3-5 Days/Wk - Immed Start
Local Delivery DC is currently adding independent contractor drivers for regular scheduled delivery routes in the Washington, DC area.
This is not on-demand gig-app work. Our drivers work scheduled routes for local businesses and organizations, with opportunities for consistent weekly schedules.
CURRENT OPENING - SCHOOL MEAL DELIVERY ROUTES
Monday-Friday
3-5 days per week
Pickup in Washington, DC
Typical pickup: approximately 6:00-6:30 AM, depending on route
Typical route: 3-4 hours
Route pay: $120-$160
Deliveries to charter and private schools
Cargo van required
Routes are scheduled in advance. This is a good fit for an independent driver looking for predictable morning work rather than waiting for individual orders through a delivery app.
Additional delivery opportunities may also be available, including afternoon/flex routes and other scheduled merchant deliveries.
REQUIREMENTS
- Own a reliable cargo van
- Valid driver's license
- Current vehicle registration and insurance
- Smartphone with reliable data and GPS
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable navigating Washington, DC
- Able to follow pickup/drop-off instructions
- Able to use a delivery app and submit proof-of-delivery photos
- Clean, smoke-free vehicle
- Able to safely handle food-delivery containers and other route cargo
Prior courier, catering, school meal, route delivery, or commercial delivery experience is helpful but not required.
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR / PAYMENT INFORMATION
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an employee position.
Local Delivery DC coordinates scheduled delivery work between independent drivers and our merchant clients. We invoice merchants weekly for completed delivery services on behalf of participating drivers.
Driver payments are generally issued 7-14 days after the applicable delivery week. This is not an instant-pay or same-day-pay platform.
