Snare drum measures (14" diameter x 7" deep) and is in collectible condition.
These snare drums were made for 2 years only and can be found in the 1937/38 Ludwig & Ludwig Catalogue.
Date stamped 3708.
I am the second owner of this Rare snare Drum.
I purchased the drum, directly from the Original owners son, over 25+ years ago.
I have always kept it as a Collectible in my collection but the snare is very playable and sounds great.....................................
This Snare drum, according to his son, was played back in the days of the 30's & 40's in Orchestra Pit s from RI to Boston & NY!
Drum has a mahogany shell with Maple reinforcement hoops and white painted interior.
Maple hoops/rims stained mahogany with pearl inlay.
This era Streamlined lugs are the tapped version, these were later updated to the Imperial Lug version with inserts.
All hardware is Nickel Plated.
Snare is all original except for vintage Batter head, snare side head and wires.
The wrap is very uniform in color/fade, all wrap is untouched and seam is tight!
