Established in 1985, TAB is a second-generation, family-owned business with roots in Colonia and Iselin. Our Forked River location opened in March 2018. Our clean, organized, 9-bay shop provides full-service automotive repairs and in-house transmission, transfer case, and differential rebuilding.
THE POSITION
• Remove and install transmissions and transfer cases
• Inspect related components and report concerns before installation
• Perform required transmission cooler flushing or replacement
• Follow proper installation procedures, torque specifications, and fluid requirements
• Check for leaks and verify operation after installation
• Complete quality work efficiently, using published labor times as a guide
This position focuses on removal and installation. Internal transmission rebuilding experience is not required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Professional experience removing and installing transmissions
• Ability to complete R&R work with minimal supervision
• Basic diagnostic skills to recognize related mechanical or electrical concerns
• Own tools appropriate for the position
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, and consistent attendance
• Attention to detail and an organized work area
• Good communication and willingness to ask questions when unsure
SCHEDULE
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM.
No weekends—weekends are for family.
