Lavender Waves Farm, a 14-acre lavender farm in Wakefield, RI, is looking for a dependable farmhand for the winter season.
Pay: $18/hour
Schedule: Weekdays only — weekends are covered, so your weekends are your own. A few hours each weekday: typically 3–4 hours a day, with more available when there's more work. The schedule is flexible and built around the right person — what matters is that the work gets done every day.
The job:
- Daily animal chores — feeding and watering alpacas, llamas, camels, livestock guardian dogs, and poultry; cleaning stalls and paddocks
- Cleanup around the farm — leaf blowing, yard work, tidying barns and grounds
- Odd jobs as they come up — no two days exactly alike
You should have:
- Comfort working around animals, large animals especially
- Reliability — the animals need care every single weekday, in all weather
- The ability to do physical outdoor work
- Farm or animal experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic matters most
This runs through the winter, with the possibility of continuing and growing into more in the spring.
To apply: Send a short note about yourself and any farm or animal experience. Apply through this posting.
