Entertaining the idea of rehoming two open heifers. Both born May 2025, single birth and I’ve seen them both in heat. Inforce 3 at birth, they’ve had two rounds of Ultrabac 8 and triangle 10. Poured twice a year. Shots were last done in the spring. Full salt and mineral program. They are both very friendly, they eat treats out of your hand and let you pet their heads. It wouldn’t take much to get them halter broke I’m sure. Bigger one has horns, smaller one is polled. Moms have good feet and udders, calm dispositions. The only reason I’m entertaining the idea is that I think they are going to stay too small for us. They are 1/2 Dexter, 1/4 black angus and 1/4 Holstein. we were hoping the Holstein would add some height, but they seem to be keeping a lot of their father’s stature. I can’t see us running them with a full size bull, and I can’t keep more pasture pets. If someone wanted a little homestead cow to breed to a Dexter or Jersey bull, they would both be a great fit. They have never been exposed to a bull. I was planning on keeping until at least spring, and I’m in no rush to sell. They are just too nice to butcher, which is the current plan if they don’t sell.
