Ever wanted to try making pottery on the wheel but weren't ready to sign up for weeks of classes?
Come get your hands muddy!
The Curious Kiln is offering private, one-on-one introductory wheel-throwing sessions designed specifically for complete beginners. No experience needed — in fact, this session is for people who have never used a pottery wheel before.
$85 -Minute Private Session
We'll work together at your pace and cover:
• Preparing clay for the wheel
• Centering clay
• Opening and pulling the walls
• Making a simple cylinder, cup or bowl
• The basics of shaping and using pottery tools
Clay, tools and equipment are provided. Just wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little muddy.
This isn't a large group class. You'll have one-on-one instruction and the wheel to yourself, so there's plenty of time to ask questions, make mistakes, laugh at the occasional collapsed pot, and try again.
The goal isn't perfection. It's to experience the wheel, learn the basics and see whether pottery is something you'd like to explore further.
