Job Title: Facilities Assistant
Department: Campus Operations
Supervisor: Senior Director of Campus Operations
Status: PT 24-29 hours/wk average
(Temporary under 1000 hours, 3-7month position)
Days: Monday-Friday, some weekends/holidays as needed
Rate: $20-23/hour DOE
SUMMARY
Clean and maintain both campuses and assist with campus repairs, maintenance and improvements. Key labor assistance in consolidation and relocation of items from one campus to another.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mow lawns.
Trim hedges, trees, and groundcover.
Maintain plants and grass (prune, fertilize, etc).
Sweep/blow walkways, parking lots, and roads.
Weed all areas.
Paint rooms.
Assist staff with office moves and moving large items.
Assist with facilities projects as assigned.
Purchase supplies as needed.
Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems, tools, and machinery.
Carry out policies established by others.
Work within existing rules and procedures.
Execute all other duties as assigned.
Empty trash.
Clean smoking area.
Deliver recycling articles to dumpster.
Replace light bulbs as needed.
Clean gutters.
Maintain outside furniture (sanding and painting).
Transport materials and furniture for public events.
Transport other materials between campuses as needed.
Assist in facility and building emergencies.
Assemble furniture as needed.
Maintain drainage system.
Repair roads with gravel.
Maintain toilets and plumbing.
Execute small repairs of whatsoever nature.
Perform minor electrical repairs.
Purchase building and repair supplies.
Maintain generators.
Maintain equipment and vehicles.
Assist and support Facility Lead in all job operations.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to interface with a number of different departments. Must be detailed oriented with good prioritization and time-management skills. Ability to work independently after tasks are assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma preferred.
Maintenance/Construction/Landscaping experience required.
Ride-on mower, power tools, chain saw.
Positive personality.
Facilities maintenance experience
Grounds experience
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic knowledge
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
CA driver’s license.
Clean driving record
Must be able to pass a background check (no felonies, or criminal record)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Sometimes required to sit, climb and/or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
Close and long range vision. Physical job which requires all necessary physicality to accomplish the duties as assigned. Job requires height and ladder work; power tool usage, and ability to lift 75 lbs.
