If you're handy and prepared to perform a little work on this; believe it to be recoverable. Parts are still available for this within various websites for reasonable numbers.
The wiring (to motor) along with wiring to foot pedal must be replaced; as it has disintegrated leaving a pool of tarry substance on top of machine (see photos). I removed some with acetone, so it is achievable with some patience. Brent wood case is near perfect for its' age however, small hole on top.
