PH Floors is building a reliable team of skilled tradespeople and helpers for upcoming residential and commercial projects throughout Langley, Surrey, Vancouver and other areas of the Lower Mainland.
Our immediate priority is finding a reliable Tile Setter Helper / Flooring Labourer. However, we are also accepting applications from experienced Tile Setters and Hardwood, Laminate and Vinyl Flooring Installers for current and future projects.
We are open to applicants looking for full-time, part-time, casual/on-call, hourly, daily rate, piecework or subcontract work.
The amount of available work may vary depending on our project schedule, but there may be an opportunity for regular, ongoing work for reliable and skilled applicants.

* Assisting tile setters with residential and commercial installations
* Mixing thinset, grout and other materials
* Frequently lifting and carrying bags of thinset, grout and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs
* Regularly carrying and moving boxes of tile throughout the workday
* Assisting another worker with large or heavy tiles when required
* Organizing tiles, tools and materials
* Measuring and cutting tiles
* Installing or assisting with Ditra, Kerdi and other preparation systems
* Surface preparation, grinding and floor levelling
* Job-site setup and cleanup
* Protecting finished surfaces
* Loading and unloading tools and materials
* Assisting with hardwood, laminate, vinyl and other flooring work when required
Previous tile, flooring or construction experience is an advantage, but we will also consider a reliable person who is genuinely interested in learning the trade.
Compensation: $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience, demonstrated skills and ability to work independently.
There is an opportunity for increased compensation as the successful applicant develops stronger tile-setting skills, takes on more responsibility and progresses toward completing tile installations independently.
2. EXPERIENCED TILE SETTER
We are interested in experienced Tile Setters capable of completing residential and/or commercial tile installations.
Relevant skills may include:
* Residential and commercial tile installation
* Reading drawings and completing layouts
* Large-format tile installation
* Shower walls and shower pans
* Waterproofing systems
* Kerdi and Ditra systems
* Mud beds and sloped shower bases
* Floor preparation and levelling
* Grinding and surface preparation
* Mitred tile edges
* Natural stone installation
* Epoxy grout
* Exterior tile
* Tile repairs
* Managing helpers and organizing work independently
Applicants should clearly describe which types of tile work they can complete independently and provide photos of previous projects whenever possible.
Compensation for hourly work: $35-$55 per hour, depending on experience, demonstrated skills, productivity and ability to complete work independently.
Daily rate, piecework and subcontract arrangements may also be considered. Rates for this work will be negotiated based on the project scope, complexity and level of responsibility.
3. HARDWOOD / LAMINATE / VINYL FLOORING INSTALLER
We are interested in experienced flooring installers with skills that may include:
* Nail-down hardwood
* Glue-down hardwood
* Engineered hardwood
* Laminate flooring
* Click vinyl plank
* Glue-down vinyl
* Floor preparation
* Grinding and floor levelling
* Moisture testing
* Baseboards and finishing work
* Staircases
* Flooring repairs and board replacement
* Reading drawings and organizing installations independently
Applicants should clearly describe the flooring systems they have experience installing and provide photos of previous projects whenever possible.
Compensation for hourly work: $35-$55 per hour, depending on experience, demonstrated skills, productivity and ability to complete work independently.
Daily rate, piecework and subcontract arrangements may also be considered. Rates for this work will be negotiated based on the project scope, flooring system, complexity and level of responsibility.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for people who:
* Are reliable and arrive on time
* Can follow instructions and pay attention to detail
* Can safely perform physically demanding construction work, including frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs, with reasonable accommodation if required
* Keep their work areas clean and organized
* Take care to protect clients' homes and finished surfaces
* Can occasionally work Saturdays, evenings or nights when a project requires it
* Are legally entitled to work in Canada
* Have their own CSA-approved steel-toe work boots and appropriate clothing for construction work
* Are prepared to use all required personal protective equipment while working
* Communicate clearly and professionally
Subcontractors should identify whether they have an active WorkSafeBC account, liability insurance, a GST number if applicable, their own tools and a suitable work vehicle.
