Selling a classic 1990s JVC Compact Component Stereo System (Model MX-55M). Nice set for a retro home setup, garage, or workshop. It has a good look and puts out decent sound for its size.

Comes with:
-JVC MX-55M Component Stack (Amplifier, Dual Cassette, Tuner, 6-Disc CD Changer)
-Pair of matching JVC SP-MX55BK Bookshelf Speakers
-JVC RM-SEMX55MU Remote Control

Condition & Functionality:

Cosmetics: Good vintage condition with normal minor surface blemishes from age.

Radio: FM radio tuner works and pulls in stations (AM is unverified - forgot to check).

CD Player: Basic CD functions tested and working.

Cassette Decks: One of two players works. Side B plays fine. Side A is currently not working.

Speakers: Good sound, but sometimes it stops playing sound. Wiggling the wires around seems to help get it going again. Could be dust or a minor issue - we haven’t had time to troubleshoot.

Remote: Included, but haven’t checked working condition.

We are not audiophiles and have only tested the basic everyday functions, but it’s a solid, punchy little system. Selling as-is.

$85, cash only. Pick up in East Vancouver Renfrew area near Renfrew St and East Broadway.
