After the Eastside Culture Crawl (in November) I barely go to my space all winter. I start using it a bit more in the spring and summer, then pick it up in the fall in preparation for the Crawl.
When I do use it I am generally there in the late afternoon and/or evening. But overall I am rarely there and it's getting harder to justify the cost.
It's a neat little space that overlooks the studio spaces below, but it has curtains and feels fairly private.
Noises will of course travel between the spaces, and there might be classes/workshops taking place in the building.
The building is in the DTES near Oppenheimer Park. There are 2 bathrooms, and a kitchenette. You can access the studio 24/7.
Please note there is no garbage or recycling pick up so you'd have to manage your own waste. You can't leave out food or anything that might attract mice or bugs.
If you are looking for long term please note that each November I will likely need to take over the space for a couple weeks for the Eastside Culture Crawl. If you want to participate in the Crawl we can fit you somewhere else, as not everyone does it and we use their spaces!
If you're potentially interested please tell me a bit about yourself and what sort of stuff you'll be creating! How much space do you need? What days/times would you typically be at the space? What is your budget?
I am also considering (scheduled) drop-ins as an option instead if there is more interest for that sort of thing! I'd have to be there but can adjust what I'm working on based on what you want to do. For example if you have a respirator and want to do resin work I can also do that. If you want to hammer away at metal, or paint in silence, etc, I can also do that. Maybe some potential to use my equipment under my supervision. Let me know what you might need!
I also can do workshops if you'd like to try out some stuff! Let me know if there is something you've been wanting to do, as I have supplies for a lot of different arts and crafts!
For example I could teach you paint pouring, metal stamping, rubber stamp making (lino cutting), etc, and if you have a respirator with a filter for VOCs we could work with stuff like resin or alcohol ink!
