I offer troubleshooting and component-level repair for selected consumer electronics and small electrical/electronic devices.
I’m an electrical engineer working professionally in hardware and system. Electronics troubleshooting and repair is also one of my main hands-on hobbies, and I have a dedicated home electronics workbench with an oscilloscope, bench power supply, multimeters, soldering/rework equipment and other diagnostic tools.

• Capacitor replacement / recapping
• Failed relays, MOSFETs, TRIACs, diodes or voltage regulators
• Solder joint repair
• Through-hole and SMD component replacement
• Circuit-board troubleshooting
• Power-rail and signal diagnosis
I enjoy repairing devices that might otherwise be discarded. My approach is to troubleshoot the actual circuit and identify the failed component where practical rather than immediately replacing an entire assembly.
PRICING:
Basic diagnostic / bench fee: $30
If you decide to proceed with the repair, the $30 diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair labour.
Repair cost depends on the fault and time required. I will provide an estimate before doing significant repair work.
Replacement parts are charged separately.
As a general guide:
• Simple soldering / connector / wiring repair: approximately $40–60 labour
• Typical component-level repair: approximately $60–90 labour
• More complicated troubleshooting: quoted after diagnosis
No repair will be performed beyond the initial diagnosis without your approval.
