Description:
Up for sale is a beautiful and highly collectible antique/vintage ceramic art pottery figurine of a recumbent ram (bighorn sheep/tryk) resting in a lying position.
This piece stands out due to its exquisite handcrafted detailing, featuring the famous "spaghetti art pottery" style technique where individual clay strands are intricately layered to create a heavy, beautifully textured, matted look of a ram's curly woolly fleece. The head and large, sweeping curved horns are smooth, showcase a lovely glossy cream/tan glaze with a beautiful natural crazing pattern (fine lines in the glaze) that highlights its genuine vintage age and character.
• Subject: Recumbent Ram / Bighorn Sheep / Aries
• Technique: "Spaghetti Clay" Art Pottery / Hand-modeled fleece
• Style: Antique / Vintage Studio Pottery / Mid-Century Decor
• Color: Warm Cream, Tan, and Ivory Glaze
• Condition: Good antique/vintage condition with gorgeous aged glaze crazing. The unglazed textured base is flat and clean, showing authentic pottery wear. Please review photos carefully as the intricate spaghetti strands are delicate by nature.
This unique and charming sculptural piece makes an excellent addition for collectors of vintage spaghetti ware ceramics, farm/animal figures, or as a distinctive astrological Aries statement piece on a mantle or shelf.
