22 yr old Red Roan POA Gelding searching for a new home. Approx 14hh - wears a 78" blanket A lot of life left. Such a good boy, but circumstances changed and with our current emergency everyone has to go. 😭
$3500 OR BEST OFFER!!!
He was shown extensively for 18 years and has had the last several years off. We ride him around our property on the 40 acres with our kids. After working him my 78 yr old landlord has ridden him, 68 yr old mother in law, inexperienced husband, my landlords 8 yr old granddaughter who had never ridden and I rode with my 1½ and 2½ yr old kids, BUT ONLY AFTER I HAVE WORKED HIM AND RIDDEN HIM WITHOUT THEM TO GUAGE HIS MENTALITY.
He is a great horse, easy keeper, in your pocket kind of boy. Easy to catch catch, lead and load. He does stand tied but his quirk is he paws at the ground if he is left standing alone.
Recommend a Intermediate to Experienced rider.
If you are consistent with him he is consistent with you. Kids showed him and rode him most of his life, he has been ridden double and bareback. Again NOT A KIDS horse.Needs to be ridden by a experienced rider to judge his behavior before letting kids or beginners on him!!
🐎Not a kids horse as he needs an adult to keep him conditioned and consistently ridden. Needs to be worked before letting a kid ride as He does have a mild buck and attitude when he just sits for weeks or months and you get on to ride, so if he has sat for awhile you'll want to lounge him first and an adult will need to get on and trot and lope for a few minutes to make sure he isn't cantankerous if a kid is going to ride otherwise if you can sit a mild buck you can ride him out of it in just a few seconds. Just pull up on the reins with quick tension and tell him enough!!
🐎He's easy to work with, used to be ridden by leg pressure only, has a lot of bells and whistles as he was fancy broke for quite awhile, but he hasn't been asked to use any of that the last several years since retiring from showing. He can be ridden in a halter and lead rope, snaffle or hackamore. I've also ridden him with a rope just around his neck, but he needs worked constantly if you want to ride him that way.
🎦I can get videos if needed (tell me what you want to see in the video and I'll do my best to get it for you )
He will need his teeth floated soon, he currently eats Total Feeds Total Equine, Oats, free choice Round bale of brome and Prairie Hay and some Alfalfa pellets in the evening when it's cold out. He is generally a easy keeper, but we have been re working the pasture again so he's limited on his grass availability right now.
He is Not a one foot in the grave kind of horse. He still wants to go, is able to go and he loves people.
💱💲SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE. I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN ONE AUTISTIC AND ONE SPECIAL NEEDS AND ITS HARD TO WORK AROUND THEM AND THEIR SCHEDULES. They will be sad to see their horse go, but we have an emergency situation and all livestock has to go at this time.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
