East Central College has opening for a part-time Instructional Program Assistant for Industrial Engineering Technology. This position provides hands-on instructional assistance to students in an industrial engineering lab environment. Support the program through equipment upkeep, software updates, and direct engagement with students.

This is a part time position not to except 19.75 hours a week.   

Minimum Qualifications: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)

Completion of Associate degree and one-year related experience required.

Essential Tasks: (Employee must be able to perform the following essential functions to the satisfaction of the employee’s supervisor.)

• Assist in the day-to-day operation and program development of the Industrial Engineering Technology program.
• Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups, reinforcing or following up on instructions provided by the instructor.
• Assist students with assignments related to the instructional program to which assigned; explain concepts, principles and terminologies to students.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials; perform a variety of clerical support duties.
• Assist in the classroom and/or lab in the absence of faculty.
• Demonstrate or describe the proper safety procedures in the lab and require students to comply.
• Demonstrate or describe the proper operation and care of equipment, instruments and supplies used in the lab.
• Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner with minimal supervision.

Salary range: $19.73 - $26.69 per hour. While the full salary range is provided for growth potential, most new hires are initially placed within the lower portion of the range based on experience and institutional compensation guidelines. Position is level 105.
