Tablet, Surface, or Pad I can load Linux on and take to the Gym.

Does anyone have an old Tablet or Microsoft Surface or some kind of pad that I can load Linux on and use as a media player for the gym? I have been doing an hour of cardio everyday and it would be nice to have some real entertainment. I usually use the recumbent bike and it has a little shelf that would be perfect for some type of tablet or Surface. I had been using a Fire Tablet, but I guess Amazon bricked it. I just need a media player, I have some shows and movies downloaded I can put on a SD card (Rick and Morty, Boondocks, Lord of the Rings), I might ever load some old-school games like The Legend of Zelda I could play while I'm pedaling.
