Brief Summary: We are excited to announce that the Recreation Department has a Full-Time Youth Program Coordinator opening! This opening will supervise staff, plan programs during the school year (before school program at Truckee Elementary and after school programs at the Steve Randall Community Recreation Center), over see one of our summer camps, handle snow day and holiday programing, and get paid to play with kids! Our main goal is to provide a safe and fun place for kids to play when school is out and parents need a place for their kids to have fun! The Youth Program Coordinator will also coordinate different fun and exciting activities for school age children (K-5) and implement those activities. Job duties also include supervision of kids, crafting, playing games, homework help, and maintaining a safe and fun environment.
This very important position for TDRPD requires the Youth Program Coordinator to have possession of, or ability to obtain, at least nine (9) units in Child Development, or Child, Family, & Community, or ECE Program and Curriculum, and three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in childcare program development and implementation, and equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in recreation administration, child development, liberal studies, physical education, business or public administration, or a closely related field. Must be able to possess a site Supervisor/Superintendent Permit.
Hours: Monday - Friday, Exempt position.
Pay is $36.49 per hour, Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance for employee and qualifying dependents, plus District perks valued at $500 per month for a family of 4 (they include membership passes to the fitness center, pool, golf course, and beach for employees and their entire family). TDRPD believes highly in training and development and there are opportunities for Full-Time staff to take advantage.
