A friend gave it to me for doing some work for him and I have never tried to use. It does power up, see photos and I do not have a vehicle that meets these specs to try it on.
The back has a sticker that states 1999-2002 Gas GM
If you do not know exactly what this is, it might be a good idea to do some research
The reason I haven’t tossed it is because it still works as a Diagnostic Scanner (the Tuner side is locked), and it might be way cheaper to unlock this one vs buying a new one.
Diagnostics and Live Data Monitoring
The Predators diagnostic features allows end user scan and erase fault codes as well as monitor live data while driving. Predator can read and erase fault codes, and contains all the manufacturer specific P codes

How to verify that the vehicle is supported
The eighth (8th) position in the vehicle identification number (VIN) is the code that designates the engine type. The Predator will support the vehicle if the engine code is:
1999-2000 Car: 8th digit of the VIN= G
2001-2003 Car: 8th digit of the VIN= G or S
1999-2000 Truck or SUV: 8th digit of the VIN= V, T or U
2001 Truck or SUV: 8th digit of the VIN= G, V, T or U
2002 Truck or SUV: 8th digit of the VIN= G, N, V, T, Z or U
What is the GM Predator?
The Predator for 1999-2002/3 GM V8 vehicles (part no. U7198) is a state-of-the art flash programmer, which advances the timing, optimizes the air/fuel ratio and remaps the transmission shift points (in automatic transmissions). DiabloSport’s programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery.

Adjustable Parameters
The Predator features end user adjustable parameters so the end user can customize his/her car depending on other modifications done to the vehicle. Because it allows for timing and fuel adjustments the end user can optimize the car for his/hers specific vehicle utilizing a dyno with proper air fuel monitoring and utilizing the Predator's live data feature to monitor timing and other vital parameters.
