MOVING? BEWARE! SAFE SHIP MOVING 480-547-4694

We contacted someone posting on Craigslist named Sam from Safe Ship Moving. Sam quoted us $185 for the first two hours and $50 per hour after that with a small trip fee.
We spoke with Sam from Safe Ship Moving several times before the move and he was very responsive. Contact up until this point had been positive.
The day of the move we were scheduled at 9 o’clock and they showed up a little after ten. Two movers showed up to move our son. We assumed one of them was Sam, but found out later he was not there. They moved our son from an upstairs apartment to a downstairs apartment 4 miles away. They started the job just after ten and finished a little before one.
The driver Mike sent us a bill. We had already given a $50 deposit and Mike tried to say that we now owed him another $539.
The small trip fee was now $249 plus $95 for fuel. This is for a 4 mile trip! He tacked on another $50 for a stair fee. Sam was aware of the stairs and failed to mention this. He added other fees for a total of $539. Mike also told us he added a charge because they wrapped everything in plastic due to the rain. Only problem..there was no rain, not a drop. Our son who was on scene the entire time said they used no plastic. They are liars and scam artists!
We talked to Mike about our bill and he was extremely aggressive. We explained what Sam quoted us and he became irate saying he would go back to the apartment and take the stuff he moved. I told him if he did that we would call the police. We asked several times to speak with Sam and Mike just kept saying he was out of the office.
Going off of Sam’s estimate it should have been $185 + 50 + a small trip fee. 185+50=235. Let’s say 100 for a small trip fee brings it to $335. So Mike sends a bill for $200 more and becomes irate?
Not to mention our son had 2 flat screen tvs that he set up immediately after they left. Both tvs were cracked/broken. I don’t believe this was done on purpose, however it shows their complete lack of concern for others belongings.
I posted a picture of their bill and the broken tv. I also included a photo of the truck they are using without the owners consent.
DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! THEY ARE A TOTAL RIP OFF!
**It should be noted that the so called movers showed up in a truck (pictured) which belonged to a legitimate moving company. Unfortunately the moving company sold some older trucks to a scrapyard with the assurance they would be recycled and not sold or used in any way. Safe Ship Moving is now using the Arizona Discount Movers truck, but has absolutely no affiliation with Arizona Discount Movers.
