About the Position
Our two small B2B technology companies are seeking a thoughtful and reliable Community Manager for two clearly separated assignments:
Managing the LinkedIn presence of one company
Establishing and managing the Reddit presence of the other company
This is a hands-on position for someone who writes clearly, understands professional services and knows how to participate in online communities without sounding promotional, impersonal or automated.
This is a permanent, part-time W-2 position—not a freelance or 1099 contractor engagement.
What You Will Manage
A company LinkedIn page, including two original posts per week
A reusable collection of branded LinkedIn templates
One official company subreddit, including setup, community rules, moderation, content and responses
Appropriate participation in relevant Reddit discussions when company expertise can add genuine value
A concise monthly report that presents LinkedIn and Reddit results separately, including activity, engagement, audience growth, website traffic when available, inquiries and recommendations
Core Responsibilities
Develop a practical 90-day plan with distinct goals, audiences and brand voices for LinkedIn and Reddit
Turn existing articles, FAQs, client questions and interviews with company experts into useful platform-specific content
Draft content in the appropriate company voice and submit it through a straightforward monthly approval process
Create and maintain an organized content calendar
Monitor comments, mentions and messages during agreed business hours
Promptly escalate sensitive, technical or reputation-related matters
Fact-check technical content before publication
Rewrite and reorganize source material to improve clarity, flow and readability
Follow Reddit’s rules and the rules of individual communities
Clearly disclose company affiliations when appropriate
Avoid spam, artificial engagement, purchased accounts, undisclosed promotion and other deceptive practices
Maintain templates, source files, credentials and content in company-owned systems while keeping the two brands separate
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience managing LinkedIn for a technology company, small business, B2B organization or professional-services firm
Working knowledge of Reddit community standards, subreddit moderation and appropriate brand participation
Excellent grammar, editing and business-writing skills
Strong fact-checking and research abilities
Ability to understand and accurately rewrite technical material
Sound judgment when responding to public comments and sensitive issues
Ability to explain what is working, what is not working and what should change without relying solely on vanity metrics
Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines
Legal authorization to work in the United States and eligibility for W-2 employment
Experience with technology, managed IT services or cybersecurity is strongly preferred.
Writing quality will be heavily weighted during the interview process. Candidates must demonstrate an exceptionally strong command of grammar, editing and professional business communication.
Work Schedule
This position is primarily remote and generally requires 5–10 hours per week. You may arrange your work schedule with reasonable flexibility, provided that:
Projects are completed on time
Posts and responses are handled according to the agreed schedule
You are available for occasional meetings during Eastern Time business hours
You can attend occasional in-person meetings in or near Bergen County, New Jersey or Manhattan
Compensation
Starting compensation is $30–$34 per hour, depending on experience.
We conduct regular performance reviews and offer opportunities for compensation increases based on performance, responsibilities and the development of the position.
Account and Content Ownership
The companies will own their respective accounts, usernames, passwords, templates, source files and content created as part of this position.
We do not permit fake accounts, purchased engagement, undisclosed promotion, manufactured conversations or guarantees involving followers, karma or upvotes.
