As a shop runner/driver, you will pick up and deliver parts for heavy equipment and some project materials for our job sites in a safe and effective manner to ensure timely completion of our utility, paving, and concrete projects. We are looking for a long-term candidate who values the opportunity for future advancement that our company offers.
PAY RATES STARTS AT $21/HR - COMPENSATION BASED ON EXPERIENCE
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operating vehicles to transport and deliver parts, small equipment, supplies and paperwork
• Cleaning, organizing and maintaining the condition of the shop, vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
• Following all safety rules and regulations, assisting with safety inspections and maintaining a safe working environment
• Following relevant DOT and OSHA safety requirements, including required documentation and training
• Strong attention to detail
• Providing assistance to others when needed
• Performing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Safely drive and operate various types of vehicles and equipment
• Pick up and deliver orders and supplies from and to local venders as needed
REQUIREMENTS
• Valid Florida license and safe driving record; CDL license preferred but not required
• Basic math and reading skills required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed
• Work in inclement weather; lift, push, pull in excess of 50 lbs.; exposure to loud noise and dust
• Load trucks/ trailers properly with materials
• Construction related background is a plus
• Reliable - shows up to work on time with a productive mentality
• Ability to connect, disconnect, pull and maneuver various types of trailers
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening as well as random drug testing
