Distinctive handmade beaded rattle/staff created by Brian Migneault, from the Migneault family estate collection.
Brian Migneault was a long-time collector, artist and sculptor of First Nations-related material, and this piece was personally created by Brian and retained within his family collection.
An impressive handcrafted piece incorporating a natural wood shaft with a rounded hide-covered head, leather wrapping, intricate red, blue and black seed beadwork, woven/braided natural material and long dark hair embellishments.

Condition: Displays age and handling wear consistent with a handmade estate piece. One of the two beaded side hair drops has become detached; the detached piece is included and appears suitable for reattachment/repair. There is additional wear, drying/fraying and deterioration to some of the natural materials and bindings. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
While its materials and construction have similarities to Indigenous gourd/hide rattles and dance-related objects, no specific First Nation, tribal attribution or ceremonial use is being claimed. It is being offered specifically as a handmade work by Brian Migneault based on its direct family-estate provenance.
