A natural cow (cattle) tibia, the shin bone of the lower hind leg, most likely Bos taurus; the identification as a cow tibia is a best guess based on size and shape. It is a long bone with a broad, flat-topped upper end (proximal end) that has a crest and a notch across the top, a prominent ridge running down the length of the shaft, and a rounded knob (condyle) at the other end. The surface is weathered, in a lighter gray-cream tone with darker staining, natural cracks and some small pits. The photos show the whole bone, both ends and close-ups of the flat top and the side of the upper end.
