EWA American Embassy Tokyo Preschool is looking for enthusiastic and caring Substitute Teachers to join our wonderful team!
We are an international preschool serving children from 1–6 years old, with a warm, diverse, and supportive school community. Our school provides a high-quality early childhood education program where children are encouraged to learn, explore, create, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
Position: Substitute Teacher
Pay: ¥1,687 per hour
Employment: On-call / as-needed basis
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Weekends: No weekend work
Holiday Work: Some school holiday/camp work may be required
About the Position
Our substitute teachers provide support when regular teachers are absent and may work across different classrooms and age groups. We are looking for someone who is:
Warm, caring, and genuinely enjoys working with young children
Reliable, responsible, and flexible
Comfortable working with children ages 1–6
Able to quickly adapt to different classrooms and teaching teams
A positive team player who works well with others
Professional and confident in a preschool environment
Available to accept shifts on an as-needed/on-call basis
