This stunning Semi-Antique, MASHAD Oriental Rug is an exceptional rug, featuring a richly detailed, sophisticated-design, characteristic of the MASHAD style. This rug was hand-knotted in Turkey, in the 1960's, and the design is stunning with beautiful detail.
We selected this rug to stage one of our beautiful city lakes homes, because of its beauty and uniqueness. The house has now sold, which is why it is now available. (We take the rugs back after the staged house sells, and sell them for a portion of their cost so we can charge less in the initial staging fee.
This MASHAD is a hand-knotted rug, made of 100% lambswool, with about 140 knots per square inch, (140 KPSI), considered to be very good weave quality. The exact size is 13.0x9.8 (so it's a larger rug, and just about 13x10, in size). It is in EXCELLENT to VIRTUALLY PERFECT CONDITION, with no wear spots and a full and intact pile, and beautiful coloration. This rug features a rich tomato red field, with four tri-bar scalloped wings (one at each corner) in navy, ivory, and light blue. This rug has a traditional navy border around the perimeter, but uniquely outlined on both sides in light persian blue as a picture frame. There is also a large Marquis-shaped central medallion in the middle, of Navy and Ivory with a small persian blue center. This is an especially impressive rug, in great condition, that will enhance your home with its richness. This MASHAD was made using yarn that was colored with vegetable dyes. This is important because vegetable-dyed colors are richer in appearance: (deeper and more subtle colors, and less flat looking) than harsh chemical-dyed woolen yarns used in newer rugs of lesser quality.)
We selected this rug for staging, because of its visually impressive design. That is why it will be impressive anywhere you use it, including in a family room, a living room, an office, a kitchen, a media room, etc. At retail this rug would be priced about $6000; But, here it is JUST $1275.
