Automation and Control Solutions is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team in Stockton, California.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Program, integrate, and troubleshoot industrial automation systems for material handling, sortation, process control, and machine control. This hands-on role includes PLC/HMI programming, testing, startup, and commissioning. Work with customers, engineers, electricians, and equipment suppliers to deliver reliable, well-documented control systems.
SCOPE
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, equipment sequences, permissives, interlocks, and fault handling.
• Develop HMI/SCADA applications with operator screens, tags, alarms, diagnostics, and data collection.
• Configure and integrate PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, distributed I/O, instrumentation, and third-party equipment.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks and equipment communications.
• Perform system testing, I/O checkout, startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.
• Read electrical schematics and maintain program documentation, backups, and commissioning records.
• Coordinate with customers and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum five years of hands-on experience in controls programming, systems integration, and commissioning.
• Strong programming skills with Rockell PLC’s and HMI’s.
• Working knowledge of industrial Ethernet networks, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot across PLC logic, HMI applications, electrical systems, and connected equipment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new platforms and travel for project startup and customer support.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley systems, including Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, and PowerFlex drives.
• Ignition HMI/SCADA applications, including Perspective or Vision.
• Conveyors, sortation, product tracking, process control, or machine control.
• SQL, Python scripting, PID loop tuning, motion control, or machine safety systems.
• Electrical design, AutoCAD Electrical, and controls hardware selection.

Pay: $100,000–$135,000 annually, depending on experience; salaried position
