Produced in Las Vegas, New Mexico, on huge looms and using local materials by Hispanic weavers at Tapetes De Lana weaving center, which is a non profit organization designed to promote cottage industry and rural lifestyles on the LV Plaza. The center revives historic Spanish colonial weaving tradition and offers textiles in both traditional Rio Grande and contemporary designs, beguy in 1598 when Don Juan de Onoate brought Spanish colonists and Iberian Churro sheep into New Mexico. Their advanced weavers have mastered the complex design system of tapestry.
