Bennington Potters was founded more than a half century ago by a young potter named David Gil. A graduate of Alfred University, which was renowned even then for its ceramics program, Gil relocated from New York City to Vermont. He began his life's work here in 1948. My older brothers studied ceramics at Alfred so I was surrounded by wonderful pottery my whole life, this one is very special. Looks great next to some Dansk teak candlesticks. height 7 1/8" tall, 3" wide at base
