Not sure what emergency services or orgs to reach out to, and I'm sure they've got plenty on their plates right now, so just gonna post here in hopes of engaging community support;
Concerned and saddened by the tragic losses to the fires, especially those seen recently over the weekend, I feel like One should offer what help they can to their neighbors in need.. Despite currently being in a place of healing and recovery from some trauma and resulting life-changes myself, so not in the best place to "give" much of my time and energy, I am fortunate enough to have some resources with great potential that I am unable to do much with myself for now, specifically a 35' intercity bus/coach, like Greyhound used in the 60s and 70s, that has been professionally converted to a motorhome/RV. It's my second vintage coach, I got it as a project from another bus nut friend in E Washington a couple of years ago, and drove it home over the mountains, but haven't been able to put much time in to it yet due to my accident, and probably won't till next season, so it's sitting empty collecting dust.
******It is currently stored in Issaquah, We would need a place reasonably close to where the lost home was to set it up. Ideally with power, water, and sewage hookup, or access to external facilities. I figure family/friends/neighbors with an RV spot on their property, or at least a large driveway, or possibly a campground?
******It is not move-in ready; first of all it would need a good cleaning end to end to even "camp out" in, (which I'm starting to chip away at). Additionally, some repairs/updates the PO began making to the house electrical and sewage systems were never completed; (breaker box is a mess and basically needs re-wired, toilet needs to be reinstalled and tank reconnected / PO's planned plumbing modifications finished, some drawings and parts left behind), and the rest of the systems tested and gone-through, but it's empty, the roof's ok, and, with a bit of effort, it could make a cozy temporary home for a displaced family. I figure even as is, it's better than a tent, and fixed up may be preferable to a shelter or motel room for many, especially the DIY tinkerer or gearhead type. Sleeps three-four, more if you get creative. Some have even converted the front pass-through bay to a kid's/bunk room.
UPDATE: I've been contacted by one kind and skilled fellow, whom, along with His Lady, just finished their own RV conversion build, and has offered help with the above repairs, if and when something comes together! I've also heard from a couple of families in need of housing, but have no space for an RV to go.
