They are reproductions but real memory joggers. If you know, you know.
One is a 1938 comic strip (not "graphic novel!") character named "Red Ryder," with his pal, "Little Beaver." There was a huge merchandise market for everything Red Ryder, including Daisy Red Ryder BB guns.
The other is "Hopalong Cassidy," who was a literary fictional cowboy introduced in 1904 but later became a movie serial star on the big screen (later in 1950's TV), played by several different actors, but most notably by the actor, William Boyd. Unique about "Hoppy" was that he wore all black (not Johnny Cash!) including his hat. He was the best of the good guys. He rode a white horse named "Topper."
