At the Wear-Tek pattern shop, we work with wood, metal and composites to make and service tooling for Wear-Tek foundry’s production of wear parts used in everything from crusher mills in concrete plants and mining operations all over the country to the fleets of machines cultivating the farmlands of Eastern Washington.
In the past we would only be looking for qualified Pattern Makers, but there is a high degree of crossover between most of the work we do and several other trades and crafts so, we are looking for a person with the right combination of relevant skills, experience, adaptability and disposition to add to our team of craft people.
Pay and Benefits:
• $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, (based on relevant experience), with regularly scheduled raises affected by tenure, work quality, safety and policy performance, and attendance. with regularly scheduled raises based on tenure, work quality, performance, attendance and teamwork.

Expectations and Responsibilities:
• We would expect qualified applicants to be able to demonstrate proper, safe use of various power tools, like bandsaws, pedestal disc sanders, vertical mills, planers, jointers, have a solid handle on basic math, including simple algebra and geometry, and be able to read and interpret part drawings.
• A preferred candidate would also have available commonly used tools for material layout, shaping and repair.
• Excellent attendance is a requirement of this position.
• Must possess the ability to pass pre-employment drug test and occupational health screening.
Schedule:
Wear-Tek pattern shop operates on a Monday through Friday, day shift schedule, and we have flexible starting hours.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear and communicate in a professional manner. The employee frequently is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, type, or feel. The employee is required to stand for up to 8 hours a day, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Work Environment:
The environment is typical of a wood/metal shop with electric and pneumatic machine noise, saw dust, metal chips and chemical odors.
Safety
• All employees are required to report any safety concerns and encourage the safety of others.
• All Employees working in the pattern shop areas are required to wear steel-toed leather boots with a minimum 6” ankle height, approved safety glasses, and hearing protection while working near operating equipment.
