Position Overview:
We are looking for a candidate who is a self-motivated industry professional who will need little guidance and oversight, with experience inspecting, creating reports, and managing
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections and tests on materials and products using Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) methods
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished products in compliance with AWS standards
Perform final checks of all materials before leaving the fab shop to ensure compliance with drawings and standards
Prepare, maintain, and file accurate inspection records
Collaborate and work well with production and engineering teams, and third-party inspectors to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Identify and report any defects or non-conformities and assist in implementing corrective actions
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency
Provide training and guidance to staff regarding quality and inspection procedures
Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in proper working conditions
Qualifications:
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) must have obtained a current QC1 Certification from AWS
Level II certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
In-depth knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards and specifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on inspection findings
Firm understanding of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) preferred
Knowledge and understanding of AWS D14.1 standards and specifications a plus
Proficiency in creating Inspection Records and Quality Reports

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand, walk, use fine finger manipulation, and use their hands to handle and grasp objects. The employee is occasionally required to climb and balance, bend, stoop, twist, and/or crouch. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
