The building inspector/estimator will be tasked with preforming AHERA certified building inspections for asbestos containing materials for private customers and commercial contractors and preparing good faith surveys for renovation, restoration and demolition projects for said customers.
The building inspector/estimator will prepare estimates for abatement projects and oversee these projects with a project manager and supervisor to complete the projects within the regulations and standards set forth by the regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
• Work in a organized manner, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
• Coordinate with vendors & customers and schedule onsite inspections at the earliest convenience of the customer
• Perform the inspection following all regulations pertaining to sample collection and documentation
• Follow the regulations of sample chain of custody and deliver samples to the lab in a timely manner to facilitate a quick return on results
• Inform the customer of the sample results with immediate response
• Prepare the full survey and deliver to the customer within a 24-hour period for restoration and in the time allotted by a customer and/or contractor for larger projects.
• If asbestos is found during the survey, an estimate will be provided to the customer as soon as possible.
• All estimates over $3,000.00 will be approved by management unless mitigating circumstances occur.
• Upon approval of the estimate the inspector/estimator will prepare the file for the abatement project
• The estimator will prepare all project documents including filling out all regulatory notification paperwork for the office manager to properly file notifications
• Supply all information pertinent to the project for the project manager and the certified supervisor
• Communicate with the contractor and the owner and/or occupant of the project site as to the scheduling and progress of the project
• Work with the company project manager from scheduling through the project progression to ensure project completion to the satisfaction of the customer, owner/occupant and regulating entities
• Collect and review all supervisor project paperwork and report discrepancies to management
• Prepare the file for billing within 24 hours of the project completion and inform the office manager to bill the project.
• Ensure all documentation is within the project file and report any documentation not supplied by the supervisor to the project manager for collection
