Ah, this little box was such a Godsend back in the 1990s. Such a small little box but contained 256 built-in instrumental sounds, 400 rhythm patterns, and a guitar-style fretboard layout. Here are some more deets from my AI friends:
• Drum Kits: 64 total kits (48 preset, 16 user-programmable).
• Patterns & Songs: 400 total patterns (200 preset, 200 user) and a memory capacity for up to 20 songs via a 4-track composer.
• Sound Engine: 256 built-in 16-bit instrument and percussion sounds with 19-voice polyphony.
• Inputs & Tools: Dedicated 1/4" guitar input with a built-in tuner, amp simulator, and monophonic pitch-to-MIDI tracking.
• Connectivity: MIDI In/Out, stereo L/R outputs, headphone jack, and footswitch input.
It was a great, portable device that wasn't too heavy to have in your gig bag, and was perfect for figuring out quick song ideas and, of course, using those brilliant classic Roland/Bass sounds.
I don't have the original power supply for this device, but I do see you can buy one on eBay for less than $5. I used to use it on batteries for portability — and that I always lost power supplies! — and I've filled it with 6x AA batteries. I also don't have the original manual, but you can download it here: https://www.boss.info/us/support/by_product/dr-5/owners_manuals/.
Take a look at the photos. If you'd like me to take a specific photo of something, give me a shout.
I live west of Austin in a little place called Spicewood. I often come into Austin, so it would be no problem to drop this off for you or to meet you somewhere in town.
Please, I'd prefer cash $$ only. I don't have anything financial on my phone, I'm afraid.
