This is a Reliance Controls 8000W, 30 Amp, 10-circuit, Transfer Switch Kit, model 31410CRK.
New-old-stock, never installed/used, but box opened.
The Reliance Controls 10-circuit 8000W max Transfer Switch Kit, model 31410CRK, is somewhere in-between New-Old-Stock and “pre-owned” depending on your point of view. Specifically, the actual switch box has never been installed or used. For whatever reason the included 30A power cable is 18 feet long instead of the shorter 10 foot long that usually comes with the switch kit, and it’s partially prepped for direct wiring installation at one end. [18’ is better than 10’!] The other end of the 18’ cable has a NEMA L14-30P 30A male connector. A new NEMA L14-30C 30A female connector is included, as well as a new NEMA L14-20 20A male connector.
The DVD instructions for the switch kit are missing, but the paper instruction (English and Spanish) manuals are included. The installation instruction videos are also available for free on Reliance Controls’ website and on Youtube. Note: both the paper instructions and videos show a slightly different model than the box cover’s photo and contents for the 31410CRK [they changed the box shape and layout of the switches], I think Reliance just didn’t want to bother redoing the manuals since the principle is exactly the same for installing their various models.
