classic Coleman Model 228H double-mantle gas lantern, famously known as the "Big Hat" because of its oversized green ventilator top. This unit was made in the USA and dates back to the mid-1970s (a great piece of camping history or a reliable gear upgrade).
Condition: Used/Vintage. Shows normal signs of light wear and minor patina consistent with age, but the tank is solid and the frame is sturdy.
Features: Dual mantle setup that casts a wide, bright, warm-toned light—perfect for power outages, backyard hangouts, or rustic campsites.
Includes: Pyrex glass globe.
Note: Untested recently, so it may need new mantles or a quick pump leather check before firing up, but these things are built like tanks and run forever with a little TLC.
I did cycle the pump and opened the valve and could hear the gas
