Old-style hair extension pliers with grips and curved handles, designed for use with stranded by stranded hair extension systems.
Flat-Faced / Cracking Pliers:
These pliers have smooth or lightly ridged, flat jaws and are used primarily with stranded by strand bonding, including micro linking, I-tip and U-tip extensions. After applying a keratin remover solution, the pliers are clamped down to crush and crack the hardened adhesive bond without snapping the natural hair shaft.
Build:
Typically made from drop-forged carbon steel, chrome-plated metal or stainless steel, with case-hardened jaws. Jaw hardness is often rated around HRC 57 for durability.
Grips:
Older or classic models may have bare metal handles, while these traditional models feature rubber grips.
Upkeep:
These pliers may have a light coating of protective anti-rust oil. Periodic cleaning is required to remove hair glue, bonding residue and moisture left from sanitization.
