Background:
This is a United States 'USN Mk. 1' Training Rifle made by Parris-Dunn. It is non-firing, but there is a mock bolt you can maneuver as well as a click-trigger. These were used for guard duty, drill, and bayonet training purposes during WW2. Note the rack number '33' on the butt. Most of these are unmarked.
The proper bayonet that will fix to this is also named the 'USN Mk. 1' Training Bayonet. These are plastic black bayonets which were used as stopgaps during actual bayonet production. This training rifle will additionally fix real bayonets such as the M1905 and M1 models. It is a fun piece to have in your collection. I am selling this because I already have an example in my own collection.
Condition:
Overall good condition.
Minor issues; Missing bolt spring, sight-slide stuck, and a small crack (pictured) near the metal barrel. Additionally, the leather sling was brittle to the point that it came apart. You may keep this if you wish. All is replaceable or repairable.
