Responsibilities and Expectations:
As a Crew Helper, you will be expected to:
• Follow the instructions and daily work assignments provided by the Crew Leader and management.
• Work cooperatively with the Crew Leader and other team members to complete assigned jobs.
• Perform work carefully, efficiently, and according to HPM’s quality standards.
• Ask the Crew Leader for clarification when instructions or job expectations are unclear.
• Correct incomplete or poor-quality work when instructed.
• Maintain dependable attendance and arrive at the designated reporting location prepared to begin work by 6:30 a.m., unless another start time is provided.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and immediately report any suspension, restriction, or change in driving status to management.
• Maintain reliable transportation to and from the company’s designated shop location.
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with management, the Crew Leader, coworkers, customers, vendors, and contractors.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, equipment instructions, and jobsite requirements.
• Use company vehicles, trailers, equipment, tools, and materials carefully and only as instructed.
• Keep company trucks, trailers, equipment, tools, jobsites, and work areas clean and organized.
• Properly load, unload, secure, and account for tools, equipment, materials, and debris.
• Immediately report accidents, injuries, property damage, equipment problems, safety concerns, or unexpected jobsite conditions to the Crew Leader or management.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Crew Leader or management based on company and seasonal needs.
Services and Fieldwork:
Depending on the assigned job and season, you may be required to perform:
• Lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
• Annual landscape maintenance programs
• Landscape cleanups, bed edging, mulching, and weed removal
• Digging, grading, soil preparation, and sod installation
• Installing and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plant material
• Pruning shrubs, hedges, ornamental plants, and approved smaller trees
• Fertilizing and applying approved lawn or landscape products when properly trained and authorized
• Fall landscaping services, including leaf removal, seasonal cleanups, pruning, overseeding, and fertilizing
• Construction-related demolition, installation, material handling, and cleanup
• Snow and ice removal, including shoveling, snow blowing, salting, plowing when authorized, and applying deicing materials
• Cleaning and maintaining company trucks, trailers, equipment, machinery, and tools
• Sharpening mower blades and other tools when properly trained and instructed
• Off-season work, including equipment maintenance, shop organization, property maintenance, and other assigned company work
Performance Standards:
Your performance will be evaluated based on the quality and completion of your work, your ability to follow instructions, productivity, reliability, attendance, punctuality, safety, teamwork, equipment care, jobsite cleanliness, and professionalism.
What We Offer:
Competitive starting pay: $18–$20/hour (based on experience & position)
