Sea Reach Ltd. is an award-winning, full service exhibit design and fabrication firm located in Sheridan, OR. Sea Reach contracts with private and governmental agencies in the design, production, fabrication, and installation of wayfinding signage and interpretive exhibits. Projects are nationwide. Sea Reach is currently seeking a purchaser/cost estimator/budget manager who likes working with numbers and learning about materials and processes. Knowledge in the field of fabrication and construction is plus. Due to the unique nature of our work, on the job training is expected. This is a full time, in office position. Hours can be 7:00 to 3:30 or 8:00 to 4:30. Business is located in Sheridan, OR.
We are seeking someone who is thorough, a communicator, has a good memory for details, and whose skills could help us to work more efficiently.
Purchasing (60% of time)
Create a PO from purchase requests
Request costs from vendors and check project budget before ordering
Order and track materials
Coordinate days for picking up materials in Portland
Receive materials, label with project sticker, and check price on PO for discrepancies
Work with outside 2-3 vendors or other fabricators, assist with coordinating lead times with in-house fabrication to insure on time delivery.
Meticulously maintain record keeping
Assist in setting up Installation logistics (order forklift, ship tools, etc)
Set up and track shipments
Budget Management (30% of time)
Manage the WIP (Work In Progress) by entering purchases and checking against budget
Check with project managers if costs are coming in over what has been budgeted
Communicate with project managers - lead times, client expectations, installations vs shop time, etc to find the best solutions to getting projects out on time and within budget.
Cost estimating (10% of time)
Put together cost estimates when bidding projects.
Develop a standardized cost estimating sheet
Produce material lists from drawings and check their accuracy with each job completed (part of close out)
Create quotes on SEA file server (in house software). Move status and update changes as projects move through business
Requirements
College degree
Valid drivers license
At least 3 years in a related discipline
