Sound Engineer / Recording Consultant (Shepherdstown)

Local recording and production space in Shepherdstown, WV is looking to consult with an experienced sound engineer for assistance with live band recording setup, tracking, and optimization.

We are especially interested in someone with hands-on experience in:

• Full-band microphone selection, setup, and placement
• Drum miking, tuning, and recording preparation
• Guitar and bass amp miking
• Piano, keys, and other instrument capture
• Gain staging and signal flow
• Multitrack recording workflows
• Live-room setup and session preparation
• Troubleshooting ringing, phase, bleed, monitoring, and routing issues
• Developing repeatable recording setups for future sessions

Experience with Allen & Heath digital mixing consoles, particularly the SQ series, is a plus.

This is initially being structured as a limited-scope consulting and setup engagement, with the potential to lead to additional session work depending on experience, fit, and availability.

We are looking for someone with practical, real-world recording experience rather than primarily live-sound/FOH experience.
