The City of Detroit has a new program called Shelter Diversion. If you have a friend or family member that will let you temporarily stay with them and you're accepted, the City of Detroit will pay them $200 (or $300 for a family of 4+) every other week for up to 6 payments made directly to them. In the meantime, you're assigned a case manager, and they will help you with finding some affordable housing and will pay for your security deposit and first month's rent. Do you think you have anyone who would be willing to help you out with this?
To apply for the diversion program, we will need ALL of the following questions answered;
1. What is your monthly income?
2. Where do you work/ are you able/willing to work?
3. What caused you to be homeless and when?
4. Who would you stay with and what is their full name, phone number, email, and address?
5. What is your email address?
6. Where did you sleep last night?
Incomplete answers can't be processed and therefore can't be submitted to the City.
