Pay: $19–$25 per hour, based on experience and HVAC skills
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
On-Call: Weekly rotating schedule, with paid time for emergency calls
About the Position
We’re looking for a dependable, experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at Pinegate West and Mansions Apartments in Shawnee and Lenexa, Kansas.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining quality apartment communities, and can independently handle resident maintenance requests and apartment make-readies.
The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver, works well independently and with a team, and is committed to providing great service to our residents.
Responsibilities
* Complete resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
* Perform apartment make-ready repairs to prepare vacant units for new residents.
* Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, basic electrical, appliances, and general maintenance issues.
* Complete drywall repairs, painting touch-ups, and other minor repairs as needed.
* Perform preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and common areas.
* Identify maintenance issues and coordinate with outside contractors when necessary.
* Maintain safe, clean, and well-kept apartment communities.
* Use work-order systems to track and complete maintenance requests.
* Participate in a weekly rotating emergency on-call schedule, with compensation for time responding to calls.
Full apartment painting and cleaning are handled by outside contractors.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of apartment maintenance experience required.
* Must be able to independently complete apartment make-ready repairs.
* Working knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical, appliance repairs, and general maintenance.
* Painting and drywall repair experience preferred.
* HVAC experience or certification is a plus and will be reflected in compensation.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple work orders.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation between properties.
* Must provide own basic hand tools. Company provides specialty tools and equipment.
* Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Must successfully complete a background check in accordance with applicable law.
