Lee Mann is a third-generation Washingtonian. He grew up in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and developed a love of the outdoors at an early age. He still lives in rural Washington and the majority of his photographs are made in the Northwest. He has had more than 30 one-man shows, including a traveling exhibit in Europe sponsored by the U.S. State Department and a traveling exhibit in the U.S. sponsored by the National Park Service. He does his own printing at his lab and gallery in the Skagit Valley. "Making the exposure is only half the story. Analyzing the subtleties of color and light in the negative is equally important. I try to produce a print that sparkles." His photographs hang in every state and in most countries of the world, and are included in more than 25 corporate collections. He died in 2011.
